Evergreen, CO. Sandy Dixon, a certified real estate staging and interior redesign trainer, will be a featured speaker at the national conference of the Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (IRIS) in Nashville, Tennessee on March 23, 2007 at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. Dixon, owner of Evergreen, Colorado-based Interior Arrangements, Inc., one of the country’s leading redesign and real estate staging training companies, will discuss “Giving Empty Properties the Full Advantage.”
“Think of an empty house as a theatrical stage. When it is unoccupied and without furnishings, it lacks interest and rarely gets noticed,” says Dixon, whose Interior Arrangements, Inc. offers 3 and 5-day redesign and staging certification workshops for those interested in the field of interior redesign and real estate staging. “However, on opening night, the space comes alive and sets a ‘scene’ for the audience. Homebuilders have known for years how buyers emotionally connect to model homes that have been beautifully furnished and accessorized. But it’s not always practical to keep a home furnished when it goes on the market. At the IRIS conference I’ll be sharing a multitude of ways to improve the marketability of a vacant property and increase the chances of a swift sale.”
According to the Wall Street Journal’s RealEstateJournal.com, staging can increase the selling price of a home from 2 to 10 percent. “Any house, regardless of price or location, will show better when staged. And as predictions of a cooling real estate market come true, people still need to buy and sell homes. Real estate staging can preserve a seller’s equity. They need stagers now even more than before,” Dixon continues.
Dixon is a member and sanctioned instructor for (IRIS), an international organization of redesigners and stagers. Her course “Professional Interior Redesign & Real Estate Staging” qualifies individuals for IRIS membership. She also belongs to IDS (Interior Design Society), the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), which has over 4,000 members nationwide, and is a professional member of the National Speakers Association (NSA).
